Nancy Callaway, DVM
My primary practice is routine preventative medication coupled with medical and surgical intervention. Until my recent move from Austin, TX, to Manassas, Va, for the past 25 years, I have worked at a 24/7 practice doing emergency and routine medicine on mostly dogs and cats, but also pocket pets, occasional chickens, and wildlife. For the last 10 years, I have volunteered as the only vet at a local zoo near Austin where I enjoyed getting to work with lemurs, coatimundi, monkeys, tortoises, turtles, and various reptiles, amphibians, birds, large cats, etc. This was very rewarding and helped fulfill one of my big dreams! I love working on the island, both with all the sweet animals there and with all the lovely owners I’ve met there. What an experience and opportunity! There’s nothing like it in the world.
