Dr. Anthony Coronado Dr. Coronado is a 1995 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. He started his career as a primary care veterinarian in Northern Illinois in the suburbs around Chicago. After his first year, he started filling relief shifts at the local overnight emergency facility. The challenge and variety of emergency medicine were too alluring and eventually, he converted to a full-time role. That hospital was acquired by a local competitor and that started his career working for, and eventually managing, multiple locations. Those locations were eventually converted to full-service Specialty and Emergency Veterinary hospitals. During that time Dr. Coronado became involved with the recruiting and management of all the veterinarians (Specialists and Emergency doctors) as well as the marketing of the hospitals to the local veterinary community. Dr. Coronado eventually became a partner in the hospitals as they grew to four locations within the Chicago Land area. That hospital group eventually merged with three other specialty groups to create Ethos Veterinary Health. In 2017 Dr. Coronado parted ways with them and joined Pathway Partners as their National Director of Emergency and Specialty Medicine. As Pathway has grown to become Thrive Pet Healthcare, Dr. Coronado’s role has changed into his current role as National Director of Emergency Services as well as a Director of Ecosystems. Dr. Coronado has always had a passion for medicine, teaching, and helping others. His mantra is Best Medicine, Every Patient, Every Pet Parent, Every Time! Dr. Coronado is married to his wife Kate, a professional chef. They have 3 children (2 girls, 1 boy) and 2 grandchildren as well as three large dogs.
