I received my DVM and BS from Cornell in 1978. I am currently the financial officer and board member in the Turks and Caicos Veterinary Assoc. I have served on the board for many years. I first bought my shares 28 years ago. We purchased land and a home in Provo about 10 years later.
I am an owner of two veterinary practices in Greenwich, NY. I am part owner in Battenkill Veterinary Equine and Battenkill Veterinary Small Animal. In addition to the practices, we have a beef operation of around 60 Angus and Hereford cows. We also produce hay for retail. We established the practices in 1982.
I have 3 sons: 36, 36, and 34. My youngest son, Scott Lutgens, DVM, is my veterinary partner for 6 years. I have 4 grandsons under the age of 3. My sons have spent many vacations in the Turks and have established many great friendships, as I have. When the practice had a boat, we fished the waters and picnicked on desert islands. They and I also became certified to dive in Provo. It has been great fun giving back to the islands.
