New Patient
We are accepting new patients!
Do you have a new puppy or kitten? Did you find the sweetest potcake to adopt? Are you visiting the island with your pet? Are you a new resident? Give us a call - we would love to meet you and your pet!
Your pets are our priority
All the staff, volunteers, and veterinarians at Turks & Caicos Veterinary Associates have their own pets. We know your pets are an important part of your family, just as ours are. We strive to care for your pets just as we do our own. Thank you for trusting us!
New Patient Form
What to Expect at a Veterinary Appointment
1. Get Settled
We encourage all of our clients to arrive about 10 minutes early to their appointment to fill out our New Patient Form.
2. Examination
Our veterinary team will weigh your pet and ask you questions about your pet's health. This is your chance to ask any questions you have too. The veterinarian will examine your pet and answer questions you have.
3. Diagnosis & Treatment
Once your pet has been examined, if your pet is healthy, we will give any needed vaccines. We may draw blood or obtain other laboratory specimens to provide you with a diagnosis and options for treatment. Your veterinarian will work with you to determine a treatment plan for your pet.
Hospital FAQs
Learn more about our office policies, payment options, and appointment booking by reading through our hospital FAQs.
What types of payment options are available?
We require payment at the time of service. We accept cash or credit cards.
Should I call ahead to book an appointment?
We recommend making an appointment for your pet, but we do take walk-in appointments, as well. If you walk in, however, you may have a longer wait.
Will I be provided with an estimate of costs?
After the veterinarian has examined your pet, we are happy to provide an estimate for the recommended treatment of your pet.
What types of animals do you treat?
All of our veterinarians are experienced in treating cats and dogs. Many of the veterinarians also treat other animals, such as rabbits and ferrets. A few are comfortable working with birds, chicken, ducks, horses, and goats. Please call ahead if you have a pet that needs to be seen that isn't a cat or dog!
What is your appointment cancellation policy?
We appreciate 24-hour notice of a canceled appointment. You can call (649) 946-4353 or email info@turkscaicosvets.com with cancellation notices.
Do you perform surgeries?
Our veterinarians are all experienced soft-tissue surgeons and are comfortable doing spays, neuters, tumor removals, bladder surgery, and exploratory surgeries. Many of our vets are also experienced with orthopedic (bone) surgeries. One of our veterinarians is a board certified surgeon.
Do you offer behavioral and nutrition consultation services?
We do provide behavioral and nutrition consultations as part of your pet's examination. If you have any concerns about your pet's behavior, please ask us!
Where can I purchase my pet's prescription and food?
We carry Hill's Prescription Diets that are prescribed for a variety of illnesses. We have a well-stocked pharmacy to fill prescriptions you might receive. If we don't have a medication, we can also write a prescription for you to fill at a human pharmacy.
Do you see after-hours emergencies?
Our veterinarians split their time in Provo working at the clinic and enjoying island life. If we are available, we generally will see emergencies. We have an answering machine that is checked at least twice a day; if you have an emergency, please call (649) 946-4353.
